Facial Aftercare

Your skin has just been deeply cleansed, nourished, and treated. To protect your results and allow your skin to fully benefit, follow these guidelines:

DO:

  • Keep skin hydrated with a gentle, non-active moisturizer

  • Drink plenty of water to support your body post-facial massage

  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily

  • Use gentle cleansers and avoid hot water for the next 24 hours

  • If your facial was prior to 3:00pm, you have on sunscreen and should wash your face. Facials later in the day are finished without sunscreen so you can skip washing your face before bed if it’s still clean.

AVOID (for the first 24–48 hours):

  • Heavy makeup, especially foundation and powders

  • Exfoliating products or treatments (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs, or enzymes).

  • Waxing, threading, or hair removal treatments

  • Excessive sweating, saunas, or hot yoga

  • Direct sun exposure or tanning beds

What to Expect:

  • Mild redness or sensitivity may occur immediately after your facial and should subside quickly

  • Breakouts can occasionally happen as skin cell turnover increases and lingering breakouts under the surface may emerge

  • Your skin will feel more hydrated, balanced, and radiant over the next several days

Pro Tip: Keep your home routine simple for a day or two. Use gentle cleanse, moisturizer, and SPF. Resume active products after 3-5 days. Visit peel and Procell aftercare as needed.

Chemical Peel Aftercare

DO:

  • Keep skin hydrated: Use a gentle, non-active moisturizer and reapply as needed

  • Use only gentle cleanser: Wash with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser (no scrubs, acids, or actives)

  • Apply SPF daily: Broad-spectrum SPF 30+, reapplied every 2 hours if outdoors. Also wear a hat and enjoy the shade. Sun exposure after a peel increases burn risk.

  • Stay cool: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and sweating for 48 hours

  • Be patient with peeling: Allow flaking skin to shed naturally. Picking can cause scarring or hyperpigmentation

  • Change pillow case and avoid pets coming in contact with face until peeling stops

AVOID:

  • Direct sun exposure for 7–10 days

  • Makeup for 24 hours (or longer if your skin feels sensitive)

  • Exfoliating products (scrubs, retinols, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C) for 5-7 days. Spot test thereafter

  • Waxing, threading, or laser treatments for at least 2 weeks

  • Intense workouts, pools, or hot tubs until skin calms

Healing Timeline (Typical):

  • Day 1–2: Skin may feel tight, warm, or flushed

  • Day 3–5: Peeling/flaking begins

  • Day 5–7: Most peeling subsides; skin may look fresh but is still healing. Some milfd breakouts may occur

  • 2+ Weeks: Full results appear as skin fully regenerates

Pro Tip: Keep your routine minimal and use only gentle cleanser, moisturizer & sunscreen. Use nothing else until peeling is complete.

Wax Aftercare

For the First 24–48 Hours

  • Avoid heat and friction: Skip hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, tanning beds, and intense workouts.

  • No harsh products: Avoid exfoliants, retinol, glycolic acid, or any active skincare on the waxed area.

  • Hands off: Try not to touch or scratch freshly waxed skin to prevent bacteria from causing irritation or breakouts.

  • Skip tight clothing: Opt for loose, breathable fabrics to reduce friction.

Cleansing & Comfort

  • Gently cleanse the area with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.

  • Apply a soothing product such as aloe vera gel, witch hazel, or a post-wax lotion recommended by your esthetician.

  • If you experience redness or sensitivity, use a cool compress to calm the skin.

Preventing Ingrown Hairs

  • After 48 hours, begin gentle exfoliation 2–3 times per week with a scrub, mitt, or chemical exfoliant suitable for your skin. Skip for facial waxing.

  • Keep the skin moisturized daily with a lightweight, non-comedogenic lotion or oil.

Healing & Regrowth

  • Hair typically begins to grow back in 2–4 weeks. Regular waxing every 4–6 weeks helps slow regrowth and makes the process easier over time.

  • Avoid shaving between appointments to maintain results and minimize ingrown hairs.

When to Call Us

  • If you notice persistent redness, swelling, rash, or signs of infection (such as pus or spreading irritation), please reach out to us or a healthcare provider.

Procell Microchanneling Aftercare

Day of Treatment:

  • If provided, please use Procell post care mask within 1-3 hours of treatment. Leave it on for at least 5 minutes. Rub in excess liquid from mask with clean hands

  • If you upgraded to a Co2 Pro Mask, please apply within 1-3 hours using a clean bowl and spatula. Leave it on for 45 minutes to (1) hour. Use the Procell mask the following day

  • Change your pillow case and sheets before bed. Pet dander and other irritants (scented detergents, softeners, etc) may cause mild reaction within the first 24 hours.

  • Please do not excessively exercise or get sweaty for 24 hours. Avoid steam/hot showers/baths, extreme sunlight and heat

  • Preferably, do not apply any other products to skin until the following day as you may introduce bacteria or other germs

  • After first treatment (using .25mm tip) you can expect mild redness, swelling and a tight, warm sensation for 4-24 hours.

  • Later treatments or those using longer needles may produce redness and swelling along with tiny flecks of redness for 4-72 hours. These are easily covered with mineral makeup after 24 hours

Following Days:

  • The morning after treatment: apply Cellular Renewal Serum & Healing Accelerator separately to enhance results. Cleanse and apply 1-3 pumps. Apply daily, morning and night

  • Skin my feel hot and tight, light mild sunburn. Moisturize often and may apply a clean, damp cloth if needed

  • Mild skin sloughing may occur for a few days after treatment

  • Mild acne or milia (small bumps) may occur in rare cases. Please do NOT pick, they should go away in a few days

  • Trans-epidermal water loss is a common and temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry for the first week. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply frequently using a clean spatula to avoid a dry sensation. The more you moisturize the better results will be.

  • Reapply a mineral sunscreen every 2 hours the first few days after treatment. Be careful about sun exposure

  • Return for follow up treatment in 4-6 weeks or as recommended. 3-4 Treatments are recommended for best results

  • Remember, your body heals itself best when it’s cared for! Stay well hydrated and increase intake of foods rich in Omega 3's (wild caught fish, walnuts, flax, chia seeds, pasture raised eggs) plus citrus and berries for antioxidants along with fresh or frozen bone broth and fermented foods to help with gut health to help rejuvenate your skin.

If prolonged irritation occurs, please contact the Pêche. If a severe reaction of any kind such as rash, bruise, swelling, etc., occurs, please contact a physician for treatment and notify us as well.
